The march toward a playoff spot continues for FC Dallas as they picked up their second straight home win and extended its unbeaten run to six games after downing the Colorado Rapids 3-1.

Petar Musa scored his 16th goal of the season, while Christian Cappis scored his first Dallas goal to help FC Dallas jump into 9th place in the Western Conference standings.

FC Dallas got off to another hot start in this one and for the second week in a row with Farrington and Musa linking up in the 13th minute. Shaq Moore sent a long ball up the field to Farrington. He took a couple of touches before chipping the ball into the middle of the penalty area where Musa was there to head in the game’s first goal.

Colorado tied the game seven minutes later, as Calvin Harris collected the ball at the top of the penalty area off a poor clearance out of the back by a Dallas defender. He took a touch before taking a shot that froze keeper Jacob Jackson.

Dallas regained the lead in the 36th minute after the Rapids cleared out the initial corner kick cross from Patrickson Delgado, the Ecuadorian sent in a second ball into the penalty area where Cappis was able to meet it at the goal line for his first Dallas goal.

Musa nearly doubled his tally on the night after a clear counter attack in the 70th minute. He collected the ball at midfield and dribbled it straight to the penalty area where he was one-on-one with Colorado keeper Zach Steffan. Musa’s attempt on goal would get kick saved by Steffan.

Dallas finally got an insurance goal in the 80th minute as Ramiro played Pedrinho into the penalty area off a clearance by the Rapids. Pedrinho’s cross in front of goal deflected off a Rapids defender and went into the back of the net.
