The third match for FC Dallas in this yearβs Copa Tejas is here as they are getting ready to take on former boss Nico Estevez and Austin FC tonight.
The lineups are in for each side, so letβs dive in to them along with some questions.
The XI + Quick Thoughts

Eric Quill is sticking with the 3-4-3β¦or 5-3-2 kind of formation depending on the situation for another week. That is probably the look weβre going to see him ride out for the rest of the season.
In goal for the second straight week is Michael Collodi. I think weβre going to see a lot more of him in goal for the rest of the season, but that is a thought for another day. His defense will be the same group as last week, with Lalas Abubakar, Osaze Urhoghide and Sebastien Ibeagha in the middle and Shaq Moore and Bernard Kamungo on the wings.
The midfield group in front of them will see Ramiro, the clubβs new captain, along with Chris Cappis (making his first start) and Sebastian Lletget.
Up top weβre getting Logan Farrington and Petar Musa.
Who is on the bench?
The bench has plenty of options for the second half with Deedson, Patrickson Delagado, Anderson Julio, Kaick and Pedrinho (who is making his return to the FCD roster after a couple of weeks out due to βpersonal reasonsβ).
Along with them are the younger guys like Sam Sarver, Nolan Norris, Josh Torquato and new backup keeper Jacob Jackson.
Who should come off the bench?
I think weβre going to see more of Deedson, Julio and possibly Kaick in this one. Pedrinho and Delgado are also intriguing players to keep an eye on off the bench. Personally, Iβd love to see more of Norris or Torquato.
Big question for tonight: What kind of Copa Tejas match will this be?
In a way, because FC Dallas already had their two games with the Houston Dynamo this season, playing Austin for the first time this late in the season feels a bit weird. Typically weβve already battled them once or twice by mid-August, so this one feels kind of odd like the season opener against Houston did back in February.
Given the stakes tonight for both clubs (Austin in the playoff hunt and FC Dallas trying to catch), Iβd still expect a bit of a cagey battle.
