As the regular season is set to begin in a couple of days, the roster moves are still coming in for FC Dallas. On Wednesday morning, FC Dallas traded Homegrown defender Malachi Molina and a natural 2028 Third Round SuperDraft pick to Nashville SC.
FC Dallas will acquire Nashville’s natural 2028 Second Round SuperDraft pick.
Molina will be loaned to Nashville’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Huntsville City FC for the 2026 season. As part of this trade, Nashville has the option to permanently acquire Molina.
The 19-year old was signed to a first team Homegrown contract last January, ahead of the 2025 season. He spent the 2025 season with North Texas SC. During his three seasons with NTSC, he appeared in 34 games, scored four goals and added three assists.
At the international level, Molina has represented Jamaica at the U17 and U20 levels, making six appearances for his country.

Quick BDS Take
When you look at the full FC Dallas depth charts, Molina was a guy that was going to have a bit of a mountain to climb to get first team minutes at the right fullback spot.
Molina also spent a decent amount of time last season with injuries, and failed to make the club’s game day roster in the final month of the season.
Edit: The original posting came from a news release from Nashville SC, I’ve updated it to reflect what FC Dallas has sent to the media. Basically, it is a loan to Nashville for the season, with the purchase option.
