The results in 2025 have been a true mixed bag, with more points coming on the road than in Frisco at Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas has earned 18 points away from home this season, while only picking up 11 in Frisco.

But with eight games to go, FC Dallas is still in the MLS Cup Playoff picture. FC Dallas is currently three points back of the ninth and final playoff spot in the MLS Western Conference.

FC Dallas can continue its climb this weekend when they host Son Heung-Min, Denis Bouanga, and LAFC. Manager Eric Quill wants his club to be the aggressors at home this weekend as they search for the club’s first back-to-back home winning streak of the 2025 season as well as extending its home winning streak to four games over LAFC.

“We know that we have to start climbing and maximizing our points from here on out,” said Quill. “Be the aggressors at home and don’t be fearful of the opponent. That’s what we’ve been preaching this week. We have our own ambition regardless of the club that we’re playing.”

LAFC comes into Saturday’s match on a four-game unbeaten run across all competitions including the Leagues Cup. Steve Cherundolo’s side has collected a fair amount of draws during that run, but were able to secure a 2-0 win last weekend in New England.

Despite winning two out of the last three games at Toyota Stadium, FC Dallas is still searching for its first home winning streak of the season. Quill hopes the expected sellout crowd on Saturday can help fuel the players to another win against one of the league’s best clubs.

“Fans are the lifeblood and we want to reward them with wins,” said Quill. “It is getting to that time of the year where our fan support is really crucial. Having that 12th man mentality is important and we want to reward them. They’ve put up with a lot this year and I like where we’re trending.”

Every game from here on out will begin to become mini-playoff games for FC Dallas. Quill has stressed that he wants his players to fight for points in these last eight games.

“Fight your way in. You don’t want to be playing for nothing at the end,” said Quill.

Matt Hedges in the house?

If you paid attention to FC Dallas' social media today, you probably saw a very familiar face at the end of this video:

For those who are curious, Hedges and his family moved back to North Texas earlier this year after living in Austin for the last couple of years. Hedges never officially retired from professional soccer, at least that I could find online. The club could technically add him at any point until the roster freeze in September.

Will they actually add him? I kind of doubt it, but you never truly know.
