It may seem wild that we’re already a full week into the offseason. FC Dallas’ 2024 season ended last weekend after the club defeated Sporting Kansas City in a very decision-less Decision Day.

We’ve already begun diving into the FC Dallas roster for this offseason’s moves. The club has a lot of work to do, to say the very least. We know they want to rebuild the defense and potentially strengthen a couple of other areas of the roster at the same time.

The one thing we do know is that they don’t have any open Designated Player slots right now. Petar Musa, Jesus Ferreira, and Alan Velasco will occupy those three slots again next season, unless one of them is sold this winter.

But we’ll dive into those hypotheticals at a different date this offseason.

Today, let’s look at the potential salary that FC Dallas could be opening up this winter. Out of the large group of players that are either going to be out of contract, need a loan purchased, or an option picked up, there is a decent amount of money to toss around this winter if you are Dan Hunt and Andre Zanotta.

Below is a chart of the base salary for those players that aren’t locked in for the 2025 season at this point in the offseason. I’ve broken it down into two categories, one that shows all of the salaries for this group and one that shows only the players who were on the senior roster in 2024, and thus were against the salary cap.
