FC Dallas continues to inch their way into the playoffs following a 2-1 win over the LA Galaxy this past weekend. This was the first of two straight games against the Galaxy, with the return leg this weekend in California.

Let's dive into some final stats and comments from the game.

Early pressure on the defense

FC Dallas came out flat in the opening 10 minutes of this one. LA's pressure was part of it, but I would also argue that Ramiro starting on the bench in place of Lalas Abubakar also played a factor.

The combination of Abubakar and Bernard Kamungo on one wing isn't a long-term solution for this club. In one-off games, sure. But Kamungo does much better with Shaq Moore or Sebastien Ibeagha in the defense.

To go along with that, Joseph Paintsil caused a lot of issues with his speed for Abubakar. I was surprised we didn't see a shift earlier in the match with Moore or even Kamungo defending Paintsil.

Thankfully, Osaze Urhoghide covers up a lot of the defensive mistakes that happened. His stats (see below) aren't massive from this one as some of his clean up won't appear on the stat sheet.
