As the calendar flips to 2026, it’s time for another round of bold predictions for FC Dallas - some realistic, some ambitious, and some that will absolutely get laughed at by June.
And it’s not just a big year for the first team. 2026 looms as a pivotal moment across the entire organization, from FC Dallas to North Texas SC, and really the league as a whole. With the Major League Soccer inching closer to the global spotlight of the FIFA World Cup, expectations are rising everywhere. Development pathways, competitive standards, and club ambition are all under a microscope, especially in markets like Dallas that will play a role in the tournament itself.
Whether it’s first-team progress, North Texas SC building momentum in its new home, or MLS positioning itself for the post–World Cup era, 2026 isn’t just another season — it’s a measuring stick year.
Just like I did a few weeks back, once the dust has settled on the 2026 season for FC Dallas, I’ll review these predictions.
Alright, enough intro talk, here are my bold predictions (that are sure to go very wrong) for FC Dallas in 2026:
FC Dallas won’t get a new DP until the summer
Weirdly enough, I started these predictions for 2025 with the same item. This time, I think it is going to stick. Sure, Dallas could find a DP target within MLS like they did a year ago with Lucho Acosta, but I see them holding firm on the DP addition for a few more months. Part of that is due to Petar Musa and his long-term future with the club. The other part is down to how I think the summer market will be better. With the World Cup this summer, the market for a truly game-changing DP will be better then than it will be in the winter months.
In all honesty, I hope I’m wrong on this one.
