As preseason gets underway, it is now time to break down the FC Dallas depth chart heading into the 2026 season.
In previous weeks, I’ve dived into the club’s roster moves and roster building. The long and short of it all here is that the club does still have several items to sort out before we get too deep into the preseason.
- International roster slots - If they add a DP this month (or next), they’re still to be three or four internationals over their limit. There could be some green cards (for someone like Petar Musa or Geovane Jesus)
- Loans/trades/buyouts/transfers - Dallas has been very quiet on the loans, trades and buyout front. But there is still plenty of time, I fully expect this chatter to pick up in the coming weeks.
- New signings - So far, we have a few in the form of some SuperDraft picks, Homegrown signings and a pair of internationals.
There is a lot of work to do, and weirdly enough, it is only a month or so before the start of the regular season. Since we know the club is going to stick with the 5-2-3 (or 3-4-3) formation in 2026, instead of the 4-2-3-1 that the club entered 2025 with, we can begin to break down the depth charts a bit more.
