Preseason trips overseas are often where the depth charts begin to shift, and FC Dallas’ time these last two weeks in Portugal was no exception. While the three wins over some not-so-great opponents isn’t the main focus of the trip, it will be the minutes and combinations we saw on the field that will give us some meaningful clues as to how this roster is going to look in 2026.

With that in mind, this post is our next check up in the depth charts and roster build ahead of the new season. Some roles feel like you could write them in with a Sharpie, while others still have a little hazy look to them. Some new players have emerged as viable depth pieces following this trip, while others are still giving us some question marks.

Before we dive into what has changed, let’s revisit briefly where we started a couple of weeks ago.

A full look at the FC Dallas depth chart heading into preseason, breaking down starters, depth options, and key positional battles for 2026.

For a bit of a refresher, here is where I saw the depth chart before the Portugal trip (with one player per position):

Note: The red highlighted player is the projected starter.

Quick Notes on the pre-Portugal version:

Enes Sali is out on loan again. Maarten Paes appears to be on the way out to Ajax. We also didn’t have Geovane Jesus in the injury section like we did Enzo Newman, neither saw any match action in Portugal as they’re still rehabbing.

Here’s an updated look at the FC Dallas depth chart following preseason in Portugal, with an eye toward what’s changed, what’s settled, and what still needs answers before opening day.

For this update, I’ve put a few players in multiple spots. This is all based on the types of lineups we saw in Portugal. This undoubtedly will continue to evolve as we inch closer to the start of the regular season.
