It is time for another FC Dallas player recap from the 2025 season, with a look at U22 midfielder Patrickson Delgado.
Stat breakdown
Delgado came to Dallas in the 2024 season on a loan that was later purchased ahead of the 2025 season. Under manager Eric Quill, Delgado became a steady fixture in the central midfield.
| Name | Games Played | Games Started | Minutes | Goals | Assists | SOT |

Highlight
As much as I wanted to call out some of his assists on the season, his one goal was something special.
What to expect in 2026?
A lot is going to depend on whether or not Dallas brings in a DP attacking midfielder this winter or not. If one manages to come before the season, Delgado could find himself relegated a bit in the pecking order of the attack. If one doesn’t come before the 2026 season, I would expect him to be a regular starter in 2026.
Final thoughts
Delgado is an intriguing player for me. He’s not a stat-machine, at least not yet, in his career. But he does bring a lot of intangibles that Quill loves to have on the field. He’s feisty, but not too aggressive in a way that leads to a lot of yellow cards (he only had three of those in 2025). He does well at getting on the ball and finding teammates in good spots (having a Petar Musa doesn’t hurt in that regard).
But he’s not a guy that truly ‘creates’ chances, which is why we’re all begging for a DP number 10 this winter.
Lastly, I think it has to be said that Delgado is the right approach for the club on the U22 side of things. He’s gaining a ton of minutes, progressing as a young player and has been earning national team call ups as a result. He fits the team more so than others in the U22 slots have in the past.
