It is time for another FC Dallas player recap from the 2025 season, with a look at Homegrown keeper Michael Collodi.
Stat breakdown
Collodi signed with FC Dallas, along with five other Homegrowns, ahead of the 2025 season. He quickly became the club’s backup keeper behind Maarten Paes. As the summer hit and injuries popped up for Paes, Collodi took over and never relinquished his starting spot (outside of a couple of games due to a suspension).
| Name | Games Played | Games Started | Minutes | Goals Against | Clean Sheets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michael Collodi | 9 | 9 | 736 | 8 | 3 |
Let’s dive into some fancy graphs and charts on Collodi’s season.

Highlight
I mean, it is hard not to go with his save of the season save against the Whitecaps.
What to expect in 2026?
Hopefully, more starts. I certainly didn’t have nine starts and a playoff series on my bingo card for him in 2025, so the big question has to really be here for him, can he double that tally? I think he can.
Final thoughts
Since Maarten Paes landed in Dallas, I haven’t really given the goalkeeper position a lot of thought, especially the backup goalkeeper. We’ve had some good backups over the years, but none that have truly pushed Paes that way that Collodi did in 2025.
Some may find it wild that Eric Quill opted to stick it out with Collodi deep into the season and even in the playoffs against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Paes was healthy at that point, so it made sense to return to the club’s leader. But Collodi was a nature in goal and at times really did make the team better. His passing and command of his penalty box is something that Dallas hasn’t had in a keeper in a while (honestly, he reminds me of a younger Kevin Hartman).
The one thing I know going into 2026 is, we should expect a goalkeeper battle between Paes and Collodi. This will be a big test for Collodi, but I think he is better for it.
