It is time for another FC Dallas player recap from the 2025 season, with a look at midfielder Chris Cappis.

Stat breakdown

Cappis came to Dallas during the summer window thanks to a transfer from Norwegian side Viking FK, and made his debut in a late-July match against NYCFC.

Highlight

Cappis had one goal, a nice tap in on a corner kick late in the season against the Colorado Rapids.

What to expect in 2026?

In short, more of the same. Cappis came in and quickly snatched a regular starting job that helped push the team to a playoff spot.

Cappis should be a guy that Dallas can count on to start 27-32 games next season, and hopefully those stats go from 1g/2a up to at least three or four goals and five to eight assists. I think I would like to see him as one of the top assist guys next season.

Final thoughts

A lot of us were really excited to see Cappis sign with the club after years of not being able to due to a Homegrown territory rule that was in place (Cappis grew up closer to Houston than Dallas, despite playing in the Dallas academy). He was an instant upgrade in the midfield and someone who fits Eric Quill’s system perfectly. He adds the right balance in the midfield in most games, too.
