Let’s be clear up front: attending a World Cup match at AT&T Stadium is not like going to a match in Europe or South America. This is a giant stadium surrounded by highways, parking lots, and pure logistical chaos.

The good news? If you plan ahead just a little, matchday can be smooth, fun, and memorable for all the right reasons. This guide walks you through exactly how to do that.

## **⏰ When to leave (this matters more than you think)**

Dallas traffic is undefeated, and World Cup matchdays will only make it stronger.

Leave earlier than you want to. Then leave earlier than that.

Recommended departure times

- Staying in Arlington: leave 60–90 minutes before kickoff
- Staying in Dallas / Fort Worth: leave 90–120 minutes before kickoff
- Staying further north (Plano, Addison, Denton): leave 2+ hours before kickoff

Arriving early is not a punishment. It’s a gift. You’ll avoid stress, have time to eat, hydrate, and actually enjoy the build-up.

## **🚗 Getting to AT&T Stadium**

There is no direct public transit to AT&T Stadium. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying or confused.

**Best Options**

1. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
Most common, most reliable. Expect traffic and surge pricing.
2. TRE Commuter Rail + Rideshare
Take the TRE to CentrePort, then rideshare the rest of the way.
3. Driving Yourself
Fine if you’re sober, patient, and okay paying for parking.

Pro tip:

If using rideshare, get dropped off 10–15 minutes’ walk away from the stadium. You’ll move faster and save money.

## **🅿️ Parking Strategy (if you’re driving)**

Parking around AT&T Stadium is plentiful and expensive. If you know prices for Cowboy games, expect them to be even higher for this tournament.

- Expect paid lots only
- Some require pre-purchase
- Traffic leaving the stadium can take 45–90 minutes

Smart move:

Park farther away, walk a bit, and leave the area before calling a rideshare.

## **🍔 Where to eat and drink before the match**

**Texas Live!**

This will be your closest (and loudest) option. Multiple bars, restaurants, and massive screens. It will be crowded, chaotic, and fun.

**Local options near AT&T Stadium**

- Division Brewing – local beer, calmer vibe
- J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill – classic Arlington pregame stop

Important:

Eat before entering the stadium if you can. This will save you a good chunk of cash. Lines inside will be long.

## **🎒 What to bring (and not to bring)**

**Bring:**

- Government ID
- Digital tickets downloaded to your phone
- Sunscreen
- Portable phone charger
- Patience

**Do NOT bring:**

- Large bags (stadium rules apply)
- Outside food or drinks
- Umbrellas
- Anything you’re emotionally attached to losing

Check the official bag policy before you go. Seriously.

## **🌡️ The heat will be real**

This is Texas in the summer, y’all. Also, you’ll mostly be walking around in areas with limited shade until you get inside the stadium.

- Hydrate early and often
- Wear breathable clothing (wearing your national team kit will be fine)
- Take advantage of shaded areas
- Do not “power through” without water

The stadium is climate-controlled, but everything outside is not.

## **🚪 Getting inside AT&T Stadium**

- Gates open well before kickoff
- Arrive early to avoid security lines
- Screens inside are massive and visible from everywhere

Once inside, take a lap. Walking around the stadium is part of the experience.

## **🍻 Beer and Concession**

Yes, beer will be available.

Yes, it will be expensive.

And yes, lines will spike close to kickoff and halftime.

**Pro move:**

Buy drinks earlier rather than at the last possible moment.

## **🚶 Leaving AT&T Stadium (This is where most people lose it)**

Just like most Dallas sports venues, everyone will likely leave at the same time. You can either bolt 10-15 minutes before the final whistle. Leave when most will once the final whistle hits. Or, you can be patient and wait things out a bit.

**Best exit strategy:**

- Hang back 15–30 minutes
- Grab a drink or food nearby
- Walk away from the stadium - especially before trying Uber

Trying to escape immediately after the final whistle is how people spend an hour staring at a parking lot.

## **✅ Matchday Do & Don’t Quick Check List**

DO

- Leave early
- Hydrate
- Screenshot tickets
- Wear comfortable shoes

DON’T

- Rely on last-minute rides
- Expect European-style transit
- Overpack
- Skip meals
