With the first match of the USL League One season a couple of days away, North Texas SC bolstered their roster by signing two former FC Dallas Academy defenders. Hector Montalvo and Cesar Murillo were both signed to one year contracts, with a one year option.

Hector Montalvo is just 21 years old, and is a 6 foot 2 inch center back who can also play as a fullback. He joins North Texas SC following several years of playing with the Tigres UANL U20s, which he signed with after playing one year at Grand Canyon University under former FC Dallas manager Schellas Hyndman. Hector was a member and key starter of the FC Dallas U18 team that were crowned 2016 US Soccer Development Academy National Champions.

23-year old Cesar Murillo, is a 6 foot tall defender that is capable of playing anywhere in the backline. Murillo spent four years with the FC Dallas Academy, and played four years at College of Charleston, where he captained the team all four seasons. Murillo spent last season with Red Force FC of the USASA.

In our Roster and Trialist Breakdown, Montalvo was singled out as one of the most likeliest signings for North Texas SC. Cesar Murillo was not singled out, but it is no surprise that he has been signed, given his extensive experience with the FC Dallas Academy, and the fact that he will fill a position of need.

Montalvo and Murillo become only the third and fourth defenders on the North Texas SC roster, joining previously signed Brecc Evans, and Abdoul Graffar Ibrahim.
