North Texas SC continues to add attacking talent this offseason. Diaro Diez is reporting that Erick Gunera has signed with North Texas SC.

Gunera is a 17-year old attacking midfielder out of Honduras, and is nicknamed “The Honduran Messi”. Gunera attended high school at East Jefferson HS, in Metairie, Louisiana. Last season, Gunera played for FC New Orleans, who are the reigning champions of the Gulf Coast Premier League.
Following his time with FC New Orleans, Gunera was signed by CDS Vida of the Honduras top flight. He wasn’t able to earn minutes with their senior team, so he came to Frisco, where he was a trialist during post season training.
Gunera is considered one of the future stars of Honduras soccer, and it is expected that he will be called up to the Honduras U20 squad.
What do you think? Is this a good addition for North Texas SC? Will we actually see Erick play in USL League One, or is he more likely to play for the U19s? Let us know your thoughts!
