Five things I'm excited for as FC Dallas begins the 2023 season
Year two of Nico Estevez still feels as exciting as the first one.
A new season is finally here as we shake off the dust from this offseason and get ready for the second year in the Nico Estevez era of FC Dallas.
Last year brought us a lot of good things, with the club reaching the conference semifinals for the first time in what felt like ages. It brought a new attack that scored plenty of goals, led by Jesus Ferreira’s club record-tying 18 goals. The defense was sometimes renewed and dominant as they saw a 20-point improvement from 2021 to 2022.
As we begin a new season, I can’t help but feel a bit extra optimistic about the way things are going for FC Dallas. Because of that feeling, here are some things that I am most excited about this year with the club.

I know I included this exact gif in my post before the 2022 season, but it still applies. Every season brings some new refound hope and excitement. This one is no different for me.
I’m excited about the small set of new players brought to the club. I’m excited to see how much improvement we can get from this core group of players. I hope a new season can also help us overcome the disappointment of losing in the playoffs last fall down in Austin.
Lastly, I’m excited to see how Nico Estevez evolves as a manager in his second season in charge.
