The 2021 season continues to look pretty bleak for FC Dallas as they picked up yet another loss on the road Wednesday night, losing 3-1 to the LA Galaxy.

The hosts comfortably took control of this one early with first half goals from Rayan Raveloson and Kevin Cabral, while Ethan Zubak added a third insurance goal in the second half. The offensive output came together for the Galaxy despite being without MLS Golden Boot co-leader Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez for a second straight match due to a calf injury.

Franco Jara came off the bench for FC Dallas and scored the lone goal for Luchi Gonzalez’s club in the 71st minute but it wasn’t nearly enough on the night as Dallas failed to really put any quality attempts on goal as they lost their fifth straight road game of the season.

Instant Reaction: Where do we even really begin with this one? Set piece defending was once again horrible on the first goal by the Galaxy. The preparedness of this group just looked off again as this defensive group continues to struggle without the guidance and leadership of Matt Hedges and Jose Martinez. This group continues to look completely out of sync after giving up a goal and is having to resort to much more pressure late in games to get attempts on goal. They talked a lot about doing things differently going into the game but waiting until the second half to really be different was too late as they were already chasing a 3-0 game at that point.

As long as that June break was due to international play, these next few days may end up feeling longer as the team attempts to figure out what to do before they head to Portland next weekend.

Man of the Match: Nope, not gonna do it.

What’s next for FC Dallas: Thanks to the Gold Cup, FC Dallas will be off this coming weekend and will return to action next Saturday in Portland.
