The third time was not the charm for FC Dallas against the Colorado Rapids as they fell 2-0 on Wednesday night, marking their third straight road loss and seventh overall away from home this season.

FC Dallas has good chances in the first half to find the back of the net but was unable to capitalize on those chances. In the 29th minute, it looked as though they finally found a breakthrough with Franco Jara scoring off a Paxton Pomykal pass but the veteran striker was found offside on the play.

Former FC Dallas winger Michael Barrios again found success against his former club, by scoring the insurance goal following a corner kick goal from Lalas Abubakar.

Instant Reaction: Sure, the first half looked good at times. We saw the same lineup that we did against Portland last weekend and in some ways, this may be the right lineup to use until guys like Matt Hedges, Jose Martinez and Bryan Acosta are available again.

But when you break it all down, this club is really terrible away from home here. Seven losses in seven games. Two goals scored against the 15 that they have given up now. You want to find some sort of consolation in games like this but we’ve gone past that point of feeling good about a half or 70 minutes of play. The fact remains, this team just isn’t good enough right now to get the kind of results that they need to be a playoff team.

Man of the Match: Again, the kids looked alright so maybe Pomykal. Maybe Jesus Ferreira. Sure.

What’s next for FC Dallas: At least this three-game roadie is in the books as the club returns home this weekend to battle the LA Galaxy on Saturday night.
