This time it was FC Dallas coming from behind and then finding a late game-winner in the form of a Petar Musa brace to defeat Sporting Kansas City 4-3\. The game started ugly for FC Dallas, as they gave Sporting a quick two-goal lead 20 minutes into the match. Taylor Calheria and Stephen Afrifa found goals to give the visitors a brief lead. Then Musa and Logan Farrington took over, with both trading goals within a two-minute span. Before halftime, Farrington set up Kaick for his third goal of the season. SKC began pressing in the second half and found an equalizer off a header from Calheria. Dallas began hunting for a game-winner again and found it after a lengthy video review that set up a penalty kick for Musa. The Croatian stepped up to the spot and scored his 18th of the season, which for the second time in his Dallas career ties the single-season goal-scoring record. ## Key Moments 4’ - Goal SKC. The visitors came out with more energy in this one and got on the board early with a goal from Taylor Calheira. Sirois made a stop on an initial shot but his save went straight to Calheria. 20’ - Another goal for SKC, as the errors in the defense continue for Dallas. Afrifa forces a bad turnover at the top of the penalty area and earns an open net goal as a result. 28’ - GOAL! Farrington pulls Dallas back with a scrappy goal. Moore played a long ball up to Musa who tapped it down to Farrington inside the penalty area. Farrington pulled the SKC keeper off his line and was able to make a quick turn before firing a shot into the back of the net. 0:00 /0:57 1× 30’ - GOAL! MUSA pulls Dallas back on level terms with a header! Kamungo sent a cross into the far post where Musa was there to meet it and head it in for his 17th of the season. 0:00 /0:49 1× 45’ - GOAL! KAICK! What an absolute banger of a goal! 0:00 /0:48 1× 52’ - Big stop by Sirois on Sporting’s new DP, Luiz. The Brazilian had a shot blocked before he was able to get a second look from distance. Sirois had to make a diving stop to push it out for a corner kick. 57’ - Big chance for Valiente! Kamungo sets him up from the center of the penalty box but the shot goes just wide of the far post. 78’ - Goal SKC. As much as Dallas scrapped their way back into this one, SKC has been all over things in the second half. Calheira ties it up with an easy header from six yards out. 89’ - Big chance! Sarver gets the ball inside the penalty area on a free kick from Moreno, but his attempt is right at the SKC keeper. 90’ - Penalty! Giving up two goals inside the first 20 minutes shows signs that the defense needs to figure something out. Quill mentioned after the game that they know it is something that has to be looked at by him and his staff. Thankfully, the attack was up to the task tonight on more than one occasion. Being back at home also helped lift up the team to where it needed to be to stay in this game. ## **About the Subs** Shortly after the hour mark, Eric Quill went to his bench to bring on Chris Cappis and Sebastien Ibeagha. He took off Ramiro and Herman Johansson. In the 75th minute, Ran Binyamin and Santiago Moreno came on for Joaquin Valiente and Logan Farrington. The final sub came in the 81st minute when Sam Sarver came in for Nolan Norris. ## **Man of the Match** Gotta go with Musa, two goals and an assist. ## **Where does this fit into the season** The win pushes Dallas to 37 points in the year, and as of this writing, good enough for 3rd place in the Western Conference. (Though LAFC is currently up in their match, and if that holds, Dallas will be in 4th come tomorrow morning.) ## **What’s next for FC Dallas** FC Dallas will return to the road next Wednesday as they travel north for their only road match of the month when they take on Minnesota United.
