Not every trophy gets cliched in style. FC Dallas and Austin FC played to a 0-0 snoozer on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium. Neither side had any notable stats to write home about, but Dallas walked away with one positive item: the 2026 Copa Tejas is returning to Frisco.

Dallas ended the night with two shots on target, matching Austin FC’s two attempts on the night.

The defense did their job, however, as the club earned its eighth shutout of the season.

## Key Moments

11’ - FC Dallas got their first good look of the half as Valiente received a long ball over the top of the Austin defense. He got into the penalty box and drove a good cross over to Kaick. But the Brazilian’s chance didn’t have enough on it to beat Stuver.

52’ - Big save by Daniel! Austin found some space inside the penalty area as Rosales found Gallagher. The Austin left back made an attempt on goal that forced Daniel to make a diving save.

90+4’ - Finally a decent attempt on goal, as Dallas had some decent ball movement before Johansson gets a shot from distance. But Stuver is there to snuff out the attempt.

90+6’ - Another big stop by Stuver as this time it is Farrington who gets inside the penalty box with a good first touch but his shot doesn’t have enough to beat the veteran keeper.

## **Instant Reaction**

Boy, talk about a draw that feels like kissing your sister. This one really had little to it for both sides. Petar Musa had arguably one of his roughest nights in a Dallas uniform as he continues to chase history with a 19th goal. The rest of the group seemed out of sorts throughout the night as this one got clogged away in the middle of the field.

## **About the Subs**

Eric Quill went to his bench shortly after the hour mark with two subs. He brought on Herman Johansson and Santiago Moreno for Ran Binyamin and Chris Cappis. With ten minutes left in the second half, Logan Farrington came on for Joaquin Valiente. Quill made his final sub with five minutes to go when Sam Sarver subbed out Bernard Kamungo.

## **Man of the Match**

We’ll go with Osaze Urhoghide on the night, who had the most defensive actions for FCD.

## **Where does this fit into the season**

With other results tonight in MLS, Dallas now moves into a three-way tie with Houston and St. Louis on 44 points. Based on current tiebreakers, Dallas is going to be sitting in fourth.
