FC Dallas and FC Bayern Munich today announced the loan of defender Justin Che to the German champions’ FC Bayern Munich II following his two-week training experience with FC Bayern Munich in January 2021 as part of the clubs’ Elite Player Development partnership.
The loan goes through the end of the season for Bayern (June) but the press release does not state any end-of-loan purchase option for the German side.
Even though Che is 17-years old, the loan was also made possible thanks to Che’s German passport, which allowed him to make this move before his 18th birthday.
Che is the second FC Dallas Homegrown to join FC Bayern on loan since the Elite Player Development partnership was formed three years ago. Former FC Dallas Homegrown Chris Richards joined FC Bayern on loan in July 2018 before signing with the club in January 2019. He made his first team Bundesliga debut in June 2020 and is currently on loan to Hoffenheim.
FC Dallas signed Che, 17, as its MLS-leading 30th Homegrown in club history on Oct. 2, 2020. He made his professional debut on July 25, 2020 with North Texas Soccer Club, FC Dallas’ USL League One affiliate, in the 2-1 season-opening win against Forward Madison FC. He started in all 16 matches for North Texas SC in 2020 and recorded one assist. Che was named to the 2020 USL League One All-League First Team and was nominated for the league’s Young Player of the Year award following his breakout season with North Texas SC.
Che joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2009 and scored 18 goals in 84 United States Soccer Development Academy appearances since 2016.
