Before the coronavirus pandemic took over the globe, the transfer talk surrounding Reggie Cannon was pretty heavy. The young Homegrown defender signed a new contract with FC Dallas earlier in the year but made no secret about his desire to land overseas at some point in the near future.
The pandemic certainly slowed that talk down in the spring months but now that the European leagues are wrapping up their 2020 seasons here in June, the chatter is beginning to pick up, right before the MLS is Back tournament kicks off in Orlando next month.
A new report is suggesting that Cannon is gaining interest from one German clubs (SC Freiburg) and two Belgian clubs (Anderlecht and Ghent).
Previously it was thought that Cannon could end up in England but the work permit side of things would be tricky for him so somewhere like Germany or Belgium makes a lot of sense as he is trying to get his foot in the door to a European side. Germany for one is home to several United States national team players like former FC Dallas academy players Weston McKinnie and Chris Richards.
What do you make of these potential landing spots for Reggie?
