Rumor: Pablo Aranguiz looking to leave FC Dallas

Reports from South America suggest the young midfielder is looking to return to South America.

The last year have been pretty up and down for FC Dallas midfielder Pablo Aranguiz. The young attacker was brought into Dallas with much hype in the summer of 2018 following the departure of Mauro Diaz. He landed on the league’s 24 Under 24 list and was thought to be the next big thing.

But so far he has not. Now reports out of South America suggest he is looking to leave Dallas and return home. En Canaha reports today that Aranguiz has interest from Chilean side Club Universidad de Chile.

Aranguiz hasn’t really found a groove under new head coach Luchi Gonzalez in 2019. So far he has appeared in 11 games, starting seven. He has yet to score or assist for the first team in a league game so far since joining last summer.

He did however score a nice goal last night for the reserve team against Sevilla’s reserves.

This isn’t the first rumor of Aranguiz potentially leaving Dallas either. Back in February before the season even began, Aranguiz was a target of Club Universidad de Chile.

What do you make of Aranguiz potentially leaving Dallas? Do you think it will happen this summer or be another thing that gets dragged into the winter months?
