Rumor: Could FC Dallas be moving Pablo Aranguiz

Is FC Dallas about to send Aranguiz back to South America?

MLS: Minnesota United FC at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

If you had forgotten that transfer season wasn't quite over, well here is your reminder (also note that the MLS window is currently open through May 7 anyways...though it would need to happen by April 5):

Multiple sources are reporting that Universidad De Chile (Chile Division 1) are in negotiations with FC Dallas to acquire midfielder Pablo Aranguiz on loan. Talks are said to have advanced quite rapidly in the past week.

For fans of FC Dallas who have kept up with the team during the preseason, this shouldn't come as too big of a surprise. Aranquiz was brought in last season, as potential Mauro Diaz replacement, but has failed to impress as he struggled to get on the field appearing in only nine matches. He has shown flashes of his potential, but he's been surpassed by Paxton Pomykal, and currently finds himself backing up Santiago Mosquera.

A move to one of the best teams in Chile, makes a lot of sense for Aranguiz. U. De Chile is in dire need of a creative #10, following the departure of (FC Dallas offseason target) Yeferson Soteldo to Santos FC (Brazil Division 1). Aranguiz would step in as the immediate starter for U. De Chile.

Are you shocked by this potential move? Not surprised at all? Let us know your thoughts!
