Rumor Update: Carlos Sanchez move to FC Dallas could come in December

New report suggests that the Honduran defender will come after the 2017 season.

While FC Dallas was on the Gold Cup break a couple weeks back, we brought you this little rumor about Honduran national team defender Carlos Sanchez.

That rumor was shot down fairly quickly by FC Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo, saying the club didn’t have any contact with the 26-year old defender.

Now it appears that there is a little more steam with the rumor. Local Spanish paper Al Dia is reporting that the Honduran will come to FC Dallas but not until this winter.

Sanchez claimed in an interview that Oscar Pareja’s club ‘already had enough foreigners’ and would have to wait until the end of the season to join the team.

Sanchez and Honduras were in town during the Gold Cup when they took on Canada.

While Clavijo turned down the initial thought of Sanchez coming to Dallas a couple weeks back, a delay until after the season could work out. I do think this could mean the end of Anibal Chala returning to Dallas next season though. That would open a Designated Player slot too.

What do you make of this update in the Sanchez rumor? Happy to see FC Dallas potentially still interested in him?
