Report: FC Dallas attempting to land Maxi Rodriguez

FC Dallas said to be chasing after another Argentinian.

Now that we’re fully into the summer transfer window, it means the silly season is in full effect. FC Dallas is reported back in the market today with news that should excite some of you.

Maxi Rodriguez (36 yrs old) is an Argentinian who plays for Newell’s Old Boys of the Argentine Primera Division. Nicknamed “La Fiera” (the Beast), he is commonly deployed on the wings, both sides, and can play attacking midfielder.

The report says that Maxi is in negotiations to re-sign with Newell’s Old Boys, and has offers from Tigres (Liga MX), and FC Dallas. Transfermarkt currently has his value listed at 1 million dollars.

Last season Maxi played in 26 matches for 9th place Newell’s Old Boys, starting 24 of those matches. Maxi finished with 9 goals and 2 assists, and had a 82.7% accuracy on passes attempted. Maxi is a veteran player who has represented Argentina in 3 World Cups, and has played for Espanyol, Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool.
