You can breathe a little easier now folks. The recent rumors about FC Dallas forward Maxi Urruti are untrue and false according to the club’s technical director Fernando Clavijo.
Rumors of FC Dallas loaning or transferring Maxi Urruti to Barcelona SC is not true. We are looking forward having Maxi contribute in 2017— Fernando Clavijo (@fclavijo) January 4, 2017
There had been recent talk of the club loaning out Urruti to Ecuadorian champions Barcelona SC for the 2017 season.
Urruti appeared in 30 regular season games last season for Dallas, scoring nine goals in the process (which also tied him for most on the team with midfielder Michael Barrios).
Urruti will still be apart of the clubs push for a CONCACAF Champions League title this spring as well as a MLS Cup in 2017. FC Dallas still needs another forward to go along side Urruti for the season so hopefully Clavijo is busy working on that now that he has addressed the situation with 25-year old striker.
What do you make of this development? Happy to see that Urruti is staying in Dallas?
