According to 830 AM Radio Huancavilca, Maximiliano Urruti has joined Ecuadorian champions Barcelona SC.
Initial reports of the transfer broke early last month, however, nothing followed the original story until today.
The report suggests that deal involves a loan with an option to buy at the end.
This move will come as a shock for most FC Dallas fans as Urruti looked to be making himself a pivotal part of head coach Oscar Pareja’s side.
The 25-year-old striker appeared in 30 regular season matches for Dallas, scoring nine goals and assisting four.
Urruti joined Dallas through the 2015 MLS Re-Entry Draft, where the Argentinian striker was chosen first overall by Dallas.
He has spent four years in Major League Soccer, playing for Toronto FC, Portland Timbers, and FC Dallas.
The six-foot tall striker began his career in Argentina with Newell’s Old Boys, who Urruti left to join Toronto FC in 2013.
