Over the weekend it appeared that Paraguayan forward Cristian Colman was set to join a MLS side through the January transfer window. Now it looks as though his landing spot is going to be here in Dallas.
Directivos de #Nacional ya no escuchan ofertas, porque tendrían ya finiquitada la transferencia de Cristian Colmán a FC Dallas de la MLS— El Imparcial #THD (@vicsostoa) January 10, 2017
A quick translation of the tweet suggests that Nacional has stopped taking offers for the 22-year old striker as they are entering a deal with MLS and FC Dallas. Big D Soccer is being told that this could be announced as early as tomorrow but certainly within the next week should all the paperwork go through.
A separate report is also suggesting that FC Dallas is set to pay a $1.5 million transfer fee for Colman. This would mark the second straight winter transfer window that the club would put down some serious cash on a Young Designated Player (the other being Carlos Gruezo last year).
Yesterday in a Facebook Live chat, FCD president Dan Hunt hinted at a signing that was on the way. It appears that the club has already made quick work of the transfer money that they earned from the sale (and loan) of Fabian Castillo.
And if you need a little highlight package, here you go:
What do you make of Colman? Excited to see FC Dallas get to work so quickly at finding a number 9?
