We discussed yesterday several players that have options on their contracts for FC Dallas to decide on this week and one player who is totally out of contract going into the offseason. That player is veteran striker Blas Perez.
Many of you pondered yesterday if it was time to part ways with the striker or give him one more year. It may come down to some clubs outside of the US as to what he will do next.
According to this report (in Spanish), Perez is currently in talks with Costa Rican side Saprissa as well as San Francisco La Chorrera of the Panamanian Football League (LPF) and Cúcuta in Colombia. He could join former LA keeper Jamie Penedo at Saprissa.
The translated piece also states that Perez and FC Dallas will be sitting down this week to discuss his future with the club here. Perez has played four seasons with Dallas, his longest tenure with a single club in his long career. He scored 36 goals in 96 career games. Perez struggled in 2015 to score goals for FCD as he went goalless between late May and the second leg of the Western Conference finals against Portland this past Sunday.
