On Thursday, media outlet *Sportico* released their [updated valuations of each MLS team](https://www.sportico.com/valuations/teams/2025/mls-team-values-2025-lafc-inter-miami-1234825738/?ref=bigdsoccer.com)\*, including FC Dallas. As you might expect, teams like LAFC, Atlanta United and Inter Miami are topping the list yet again, with LAFC hitting a $1.28 billion valuation by the publication. Atlanta United, Inter Miami and the LA Galaxy are also coming in at $1 billion for the second straight season. FC Dallas, well, they’re further down the list. According to them: > To derive the market value of the 29 current MLS franchises, *Sportico* calculated each team’s revenue, relying on publicly available information and financial records—and interviews with those knowledgeable of team finances, including eight sports bankers and attorneys who actively work on MLS transactions. --- ### Does any of this actually matter? Honestly, no. On the other side of it, they do bring up some interesting thoughts. Here are a few that stand out to me: **Texas trio**: Austin leads the way at a value that is inching closer to the billion dollar mark. Houston is only a couple of spots ahead of FC Dallas, with a $580 million value. **Stadium renovations will help down the road**: Don't be surprised to see FC Dallas take a serious dip in the next couple of reports. The revenue side of things, especially with Toyota Stadium under construction for the next couple of years. Once that construction is complete, I do expect to see FC Dallas jump up the rankings, here a bit. They'll have a more modern stadium than most teams around them at that point. **Miami without Messi**: Obviously Lionel Messi helped Miami shoot up the list over the last couple of years, but once he is out of the picture, how will they fare? Their new stadium will help keep them near the top of the rankings for a while, but I doubt they overtake either LA club in the long run. **Middle of the country**: I do find it fascinating that most of the midwestern teams (SKC, St. Louis, Nashville, and Minnesota) all land right in the same area as one another. **Oh Canada**: Two of the three Canadian clubs came in at the very bottom, while the other (Toronto) is near the top part of the list.
