They say that dreams do come true and in a way, Wednesday night’s debut for the United States men’s national team for FC Dallas Homegrown forward Ricardo Pepi was certainly that.
A game-winning goal and two assists along with the night’s man of the match honors are what Pepi picked up as the USMNT came from behind to down Honduras 4-1.
Pepi’s big moment came in the 75th minute when he connected on a DeAndre Yedlin’s cross and put the US on top with his first international goal.

Big time play from the youngster. What a moment for @Ricardo_Pepi9!pic.twitter.com/DjsTsc4PLu
The goal wasn’t the only thing he was doing on the night as he also set up his teammates for goals, something I think FC Dallas fans could get used to seeing as well as he returns home for this weekend’s game against San Jose.

The win helped elevate the US back into the hunt for one of the top three spots in the Concacaf qualifying with five points after three games. After last night’s results, the US are tied with Canada and Panama on five points but thanks to the goal differential at the moment, the US sit third.
