The latest edition* of the Marco Ferruzzi era with FC Dallas begins tonight in Canada. FC Dallas is wrapping up the third of a three-game road trip as they take on the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Both sides are currently dealing with an interim manager situation. Vancouver let Marc dos Santos go last month following their loss in the Canadian Championship. Vanni Sartini has stepped into the interim role with a 2-1-1 record.
* Ferruzzi has been the interim manager twice before when Steve Morrow and Schellas Hyndman were let go of the manager spot.
FC Dallas notes:
Key player for FC Dallas - Jader Obrian - The speedy winger scored four goals last week and finally looked like he has gotten used to things in MLS. If he can keep that pace up on the road, FC Dallas may have a shot at some points in this one.
Last time against Vancouver - This will be the final regular-season meeting between the two clubs in 2021. Ricardo Pepi netted early for FC Dallas in the Fourth of July match at Toyota Stadium. Vancouver’s Lucas Cavallini and Andy Rose gave the Whitecaps the lead by the end of the first half before an own goal in stoppage time left the teams in a 2-2 draw.
Playing the kids - FC Dallas Homegrown players have played 7,414 minutes and have made 129 appearances in the past 26 matches during the 2021 season, surpassing the 4,949 minutes played during the 2020 MLS regular season.
