Welcome to another week of Hoops Home & Abroad. Several players find themselves in limbo as the end of the transfer window is almost upon us. There were also a couple of players making their season debuts.

AP - (Former FCD Academy Players)

FCD - (Former FCD Team Players)

DFW - (Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex Players)

Tanner Tessmann (AP/FCD - Venezia/Serie A) - Tanner was on the bench and made his Serie A debut in the 63rd minute, with his club down 1-0 to Napoli. Venezia would go on to lose 2-0 at Napoli, despite the hosts being down to ten men since the 22nd minute.

Weston McKennie (AP - Juventus/Serie A): Weston was not even in the 18 this past weekend for Juventus, throwing added fuel to the rumors that he’s on the move. With that in mind, here is the latest rumor:

So it is clear that Tottenham Hotspur is the front runner to acquire McKennie. So what exactly is the connection between Tottenham and McKennie? The answer is Tottenham manager Fabio Paratici, who was with Juventus when McKennie joined that club and is responsible for bringing McKennie there in the first place.

It also needs to be said that Everton has very recently entered the picture, in the race to acquire McKennie.

In the meantime, McKennie has been called up for the USMNT:

Finally, a fun little fan thread for you to check out.

Carlos Gruezo (FCD - FC Augsburg/Bundesliga): Carlos did not start this past weekend, but came off the bench to start the second half in a 0-0 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Carlos has received a callup for the Equador MNT for their upcoming games in September.

Chris Richards (AP/FCD - Bayern Munich/Bundesliga): Richards was on the bench Sunday and came in late (88th minute) to help Bayern Munich seal a 3-2 win over visiting Köln. This was Chris’s first appearance of the season for Bayern Munich.

Richards was on the bench Wednesday night in DFB-Pokal (German Cup) action at Bremer SV (German Division 5). Richards started the second half, entering the match with Bayern Munich leading by a 5-0 score. Bayern Munich would roll to a 12-0 victory to advance to the 2nd round.

Chris Richards was one of the big USMNT snubs. He may have been kept off the USMNT roster due to his unstable club situation, as Bayern Munich appears to be unsure what to do with the young American. This indecision has left Richards in limbo, unsure of where he will be playing the remainder of this season.

Christian Cappis (AP - Brondby/Danish Superliga): Cappis was an unused sub in a 2-1 loss against visiting Red Bull Salzburg (Austria Top Flight). This was the 2nd Leg of Champions League Qualification, which sees Brondby eliminated on a 4-2 aggregate loss.

Bryan Reynolds (AP/FCD - AS Roma/Serie A) - Bryan Reynolds was an unused sub in a foul-marred 3-1 win over Fiorentina, that saw both clubs finish with ten men.

Reggie Cannon (AP/FCD - Boavista/Liga NOS): Reggie is another player who finds himself in limbo. Boavista has decided to move Cannon, but none of the clubs interested in his services have met their asking price. The current front runners to acquire Cannon are all English Championship clubs, although there are recent rumors that Granada FC of La Liga (Spain top flight) are showing interest.

Alejandro Zendejas (AP/FCD - Necaxa/Liga MX) - Alex started on Sunday against visiting FC Juarez. Alex would play the entire match as Necaxa would go on to earn a 1-0 victory.

The win sees Necaxa climb to 8th place in the Liga MX Apertura Table.

Nicholas Hagen (AP - Hamarkameratene/Norway D2): Nick Hagen has in the past couple of weeks made a move on a free transfer to Norwegian Division 2 club HamKam. Nick was immediately inserted as the club's starter and has now started the last two matches for HamKam. In his debut (Wednesday, August 18), Nick lead his new club to a 2-0 win at Jerv.

This past weekend saw Nick earn his second clean sheet in as many attempts, as HamKam would cruise to a 4-0 win at Ranheim TF.

With the back-to-back wins, HamKam finds itself atop the OBOS-ligaen Table with 32 points (10-2-3).
