The summer callups may be over but the fall is right around the corner here as qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup is set to begin in a couple of weeks. FC Dallas midfielder Bryan Acosta (Honduras) and winger Szabolcs Schön (Hungary) have been called up to represent their respective countries in the September window.

Both players will depart following the Austin FC match on Sunday, Aug. 29.

Acosta has 51 appearances for Los Catrachos, last appearing in the 3-0 loss against Mexico in the 2021 Gold Cup quarterfinals match on July 24.

Schon earns his second call up to the Hungary National Team after appearing in the UEFA Euro 2020 group stage matches against Portugal and Germany. He has three appearances overall for the Magyars.

As of this writing, the United States Men’s Nation team has not announced their roster for the September games, so as soon as they do we will let you know if any FC Dallas players like Jesus Ferreira or Ricardo Pepi have earned a callup.
