Lineups

The June international break is done and in the book as FC Dallas is back in action tonight as they host Minnesota United.

FC Dallas is currently at the bottom of the Western Conference standings and a win could easily propel this club as the summer begins.

FC Dallas notes:

Key player for FC Dallas - Jose Martinez - We’ve seen some good moments out of the Spaniard this season but given the injury situation in the back, and the potential for a Justin Che debut, FCD needs his leadership to help guide the defense out of this funk.

There is at least this - FC Dallas hasn’t lost consecutive matches since May 2019. They’ve collected at least a point following each of their last 18 defeats (W9 D9, including playoffs).

Maurer Power - FC Dallas has conceded an MLS-high four penalties this season, though Jimmy Maurer has saved two of the three penalties he’s faced. Maurer is the only goalkeeper to save more than one penalty this season.

Many returns - FC Dallas has several injuries right now but they should see the return of Justin Che and Brandon Servania from their loans and Jesus Ferreira from his injury that kept him out of the first two months of the season.

Minnesota United notes:

Shots from distance - Minnesota United has attempted an MLS-high 7.6 shots per match from outside the box this season. They’ve only hit 13% of those shots on target (7/53), however, second-lowest in MLS (Real Salt Lake – 10%).
