Very nice stop by Maric but my goodness, at some point you have to shoot! Can't just walk it into the goal. pic.twitter.com/8OLiOeu1aG— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) May 8, 2021
PK Goal for Houston
Both clubs come in with identical 1-1-1 records on the season. Houston picked up a draw last weekend against LAFC, while FC Dallas scored their first win of the season in a 4-1 thrashing of Portland.
FC Dallas notes:
Key player for FC Dallas - Andres Ricaurte - The Colombian playmaker has enjoyed his games against the Orange so far since joining FC Dallas last summer. Between the killer goal he scored and some of the assists he’s already racked up, FCD will need to lean on him again if they want to begin the 2021 Texas Derby with a win.
Last time against Houston - The two sides met pretty recently in the preseason, where FC Dallas came away with a 3-1 win down in Houston to win the La Copita tournament. In the 2020 season, FC Dallas retained El Capitan thanks to a dominating 3-0 win in the final leg of the series.
Home in the Texas Derby - The home side has not lost any of the last 12 Texas Derbies dating back to a 3-1 win for FC Dallas at Houston in 2016. FCD is unbeaten in 10 straight home matches against the Dynamo (W7 D3), including winning the last four in a row by an aggregate score of 14-4.
OUT: Jesus Ferriera (shoulder), Kyle Zobeck, Nkosi Tafari
On Loan: Brandon Servania, Justin Che
Houston Dynamo notes:
Road-woes - The Dynamo are winless in nine straight away matches (D3 L6), the third-longest streak in MLS (Fire, Crew – 13 straight). Houston has 12 points in 28 away matches since the start of the 2019 season (W3 D3 L22), its 0.43 points per match is the worst away record in MLS in that time.
OUT: Ethan Bartlow (concussion)
