FC Dallas downs OKC Energy 4-0 in preseason friendly

Ricardo Pepi scored two goals in the win.

FC Dallas played in their first preseason match on Saturday afternoon as they downed USL-Championship side OKC Energy 4-0. The match was set in three 30 minute periods that saw Ricardo Pepi score two goals while newcomers Freddy Vargas and Kalil ElMedkhar scored their first preseason goal for FC Dallas.

Vargas scored the first goal early in the match according to the club’s Twitter feed with a goal in the ninth minute on an assist from Bryan Acosta.

The club had to wait until the final thirty-minute session to score their second goal, one from ElMedkhar, who picked up a ball from Jose Martinez in the corner of the penalty box to score his first goal.

Pepi found his two goals shortly after that, with one being assisted by fellow Homegrown player Thomas Roberts.

The match kicks off a busy preseason period which sees FCD play two more games in the next seven days. Dallas hosts USL Championship side Austin Bold FC on Wednesday, March 24 before traveling south to face San Antonio FC at Toyota Field on Saturday, March 27.
