FC Dallas players start fundraiser for Texas Winter Storm relief

Players are doing what they can to get involved in helping the relief efforts.

This week has certainly been a long one for many across the Lone Star State. FC Dallas Homegrown player Tanner Tessmann is hoping to do what he can to help provide some relief to folks in need with a GoFundMe campaign.

Their target goal is $10,000 right now.

Millions of Texas residents have been without power and heat since the beginning of the week, when severe winter weather sent the state’s power grid into gridlock. An estimated three million homes and businesses are impacted, and 31 people have died in incidents connected to the storm.

The other two Texan teams Austin FC and Houston Dynamo are also doing relief efforts of their own. You can donate to Austin’s relief fund here, while Houston’s can be found here. All of Houston’s donations will be split among Mutual Aid Houston, Kids Meals Houston and The Houston Food Bank. Austin’s proceeds are going to the club’s 4ATX Foundation’s support of the Austin Area Urban League, which assists African Americans and underserved Austin-area residents.

Again, we hope you and your family are staying safe through this difficult time.
