FC Dallas Homegrown midfielder Tanner Tessmann enjoyed a pretty wild ride in his first professional season with the club in 2020. He went from being a known Academy product to a potential kicker at the University of Clemson for Dabo Sweeney, before turning that down and signing with the club ahead of the 2020 season.
After appearing in 19 games and starting nine of those, Tessmann’s stock is rising to the point where foreign teams are beginning to notice. ESPNFC is reporting today that FC Dallas’ strategic partner Bayern Munich is expected to bring the 19-year old in for a training session later this month.
If the defensive midfielder is included in either U.S. Soccer’s national team or U23 camp later this month, he would travel to Germany shortly after. The length of his training stint would be impacted by the MLS schedule, which has yet to be announced.
Tessmann would join fellow FCD academy alum, Chris Richards who has been doing well with the German squad since joining them back in 2018.
The report suggests that no loan or permanent move has been fully discussed yet but given that he is getting this sort of attention already, it probably cannot be ruled out just yet.
What do you all make of Tessmann getting a chance to train with Bayern? Do you think a move for him is on the way as well this winter?
