FC Dallas midfielder Paxton Pomykal underwent an arthroscopic labrum repair and correction of CAM impingement on Thursday, September 3. According to the club’s press release, Dr. John Christoforetti successfully performed the procedure at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Allen.

Anticipated recovery time is approximately six months, putting an end to the 2020 season for Pomykal.

The Homegrown midfielder played in five matches for FC Dallas in 2020, starting against Nashville on August 16.

While the news is certainly not what we wanted to see for Pomykal, at least this should clear up the lingering pain and issues he’s been having this year (and in a way since last year too). Hopefully he will be able to recover during this time and come back stronger and healthier in 2021 for the club.

Who do you see stepping up in his place while he is out this season? Will it be newcomer Andres Ricaurte or will Jesus Ferreira be able to finally find his way in 2020? Let us know below.
