Squad Selection: How will FC Dallas rotate their lineup against Atlanta United?

Three straight wins have FC Dallas feeling good, but is Atlanta United going to be a trap game?

MLS: FC Dallas at Sporting Kansas City Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas looks to make it four wins in a row as they take on a struggling Atlanta United squad Wednesday night in Georgia.

Head coach Luchi Gonzalez told the media on Monday that he expects to rotate some players on Wednesday night due to the high workload and number of games adding up at the moment on the schedule.

Two players we know that will be out for this game are in the midfield as Thiago Santos and Bryan Acosta will miss Wednesday’s match due to suspensions from the previous game in Kansas City. That means we could see more of Tanner Tessmann, Brandon Servania and possibly even someone like Edwin Cerrillo (Luchi did comment on his suspension with North Texas SC and that it shouldn’t be an issue for him with FC Dallas).

With possible rotation on the way, we could also see some in the defense as Gonzalez looks to get guys like Matt Hedges or Reto Ziegler some time off with Bressan able to fill in.

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Wednesday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, some of those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: Thiago Santos (yellow card accumulation), Bryan Acosta

OUT: Paxton Pomykal (hip)

QUESTIONABLE: none

LOAN: Francis Atuahene (San Diego Loyal), Pablo Aranguiz (La U), Callum Montgomery (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi (Austin Bold)
