FC Dallas has reached a transfer agreement with FC Viktoria Plzeň for striker Zdeněk Ondrášek, the club announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
The move comes on the heels of Kobra not playing or being available in the last couple of games for FC Dallas. The move will open up an international roster slot.
“Family is number one. As long as it’s about family, everything goes aside,” said Ondrášek through a press release. “Things happened pretty quickly this year. I had to decide quickly, and I did decide. I put the family in front of soccer. I would like to thank everybody here: in the club, around the club, in the city.”
The 31-year old appeared in 25 FC Dallas matches across all competitions, recording nine goals and three assists. He made his MLS debut on March 23, 2019 vs. Colorado Rapids and scored his first FC Dallas goal in the 59th minute against Montreal Impact on August 17, 2019 to beginning Dallas’ comeback in the 3-3 draw. FC Dallas compiled a 4-0-3 record in matches Ondrášek scored.
While it is certainly disappointing to see Kobra leave like this, we certainly respect his desire to return home to be with family.
