FC Dallas resumes 2020 season with two games against Nashville SC

The new schedule is out for the reminder of the 2020 season.

The 2020 season is back on for FC Dallas! The league released the schedule for the restart of the season on Saturday morning.

FC Dallas will play two games right out of the gate against expansion side Nashville SC. The first is on Wednesday, August 12 at 7:30 pm, with a follow up meeting Sunday, August 16 at 7:30 pm. Both games will be at Toyota Stadium.

The two-game series between both teams as they look to return to league play following their withdrawal from the MLS is Back Tournament in July after a total of 19 players and one coach tested positive for COVID-19 while in Orlando, FL. The third game between the two sides will be scheduled for later this fall.

FC Dallas also announced six additional matches as the league continues match play in local markets following the tournament.

FC Dallas will face the Houston Dynamo in its first road game of the 2020 season on August 21 at 7 pm. Dallas will also visit Sporting Kansas City on September 2 at 7:30 pm and Minnesota United FC on September 9 at 7 pm.

FC Dallas will host the Colorado Rapids on August 26 at 7:30 pm, Minnesota United FC on August 29 at 7:30 pm and the Houston Dynamo on September 14 at 7:30 pm at Toyota Stadium.

Broadcast details for those six matches will be announced in the near future. All games at Toyota Stadium will be played in front of a reduced capacity.

The return to play in home markets will feature comprehensive health and safety protocols, including regular testing of players, coaches and essential staff for COVID-19. Teams will take chartered flights, or buses, and for the majority of road trips will arrive in the host market on matchday and depart after the match later that evening.

Each club will play 18 additional regular season games in a phased approach, culminating with Decision Day on Sunday, Nov. 8. The remainder of the fall schedule will be revealed at a later date.
