FC Dallas vs Nashville: Match Predictions

Let’s see if Dallas can get this right this time

MLS: Nashville SC at FC Dallas Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Aside from no major injuries, basically nothing went right for Dallas on and off the field after Wednesday embarrassment when they fell 1-0 at home to Nashville. Some predictable rust from not having played a competitive game in nearly half a year, but still - on the field, Dallas looked so flat and out of ideas. Franco Jara looked like Maxi Urruti 2.0, and in the worst possible way.

Then of course was the shambolic decision to have fans in the stadium, the national anthem, people booing and throwing bottles at players, then Dallas making the boneheaded decision to issue a statement basically using there are “fine people on both sides” argument rather than standing up for your own player who was receiving death threads. (Which to their credit, they issued a proper statement later.)

Nothing will erase the shame and pain from those instances, but a win would go and ease some of that if they can take care of business tonight against Nashville again.

The staff are continuing to make picks this season and we’re going with a simple points system for 2020:

Correct Result Prediction: 1pt

Correct Score: 1pt

Here are our staff predictions against NSH:

Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Ben Lyon Win 2 1 The smug comments from Sounders fans this week...
Jack Rous Win 2 0 How do they do it? Ricardo Pepi
Jason Poon Loss 0 2 It's been fun but I'm not seeing a way out of Seattle with a win.
Jeff Loftin Loss 1 2 Close loss after controversial play at the other end which mysteriously doesn't get VAR treatment.
Mohammad Bushnaq Loss 1 2 Valiant effort but Dallas falls short in the Pacific NW for their revenge bid.
Nathan Hill Draw 2 2 FC Dallas advance on PKs and claim the Cascadia Cup. Goals from Jara and Pepi.
Ryan Scanlon Loss 1 3 Seattle’s quality and combination play will be too much for FC Dallas which will not let us get away with what we pulled off against Portland. Michael Barrios gives us a glimmer of hope with a goal before Jordan Morris and Nick Lodeiro put this out of reach.

Oddly enough, none of us have made a correct prediction yet, so we’re all sitting at the top of the standings with 0 points. But we do have a little bit of everything, so surely someone’s guaranteed to get on the board!

What do you think? Can Dallas rebound after such a poor display on Wednesday?
