Squad Selection: What changes will Luchi Gonzalez make against Nashville SC?

Wednesday night didn’t go so well, what will Sunday bring?

Yeah, Wednesday didn’t go all too well for FC Dallas against expansion side Nashville SC. So, we get to do it all again in this reboot of the season tomorrow night.

Luchi Gonzalez opted to go with a 3-5-2 kind of look on Wednesday, along with the rust of not playing for five months, things looked pretty rough for the club in their return to the field. Hopefully the changes that were made in the second half of the game will be used a bit more. What we do know from Wednesday is that guys like Paxton Pomykal and Zdenek Ondrasek aren’t 100% for a full 90 minutes just yet. That is part of the problem in my mind.

So will we see the 3-5-2 again on Sunday? I know most of us hope not. Also, do we see something different in the attack? Even if Pomykal and Kobra can go for 60 minutes, that is better than waiting to give them each just a half hour. Either way, Sunday’s lineup may feel like more of an experiment than Wednesday.

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Sunday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, some of those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED:

OUT: Brandon Servania (undisclosed injury)

QUESTIONABLE: none

LOAN: Francis Atuahene (San Diego Loyal), Pablo Aranguiz (La U), Callum Montgomery (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi (Austin Bold)

Note: Andres Ricaurte has not arrived, he’ll be added once his paper work has come through and he begins practicing.
