FC Dallas returns home to North Texas

After a few weeks away and some unfortunate issues, FC Dallas flew home on Monday.

We discussed it this morning and then saw the social posts throughout the day. FC Dallas is back home in North Texas today.

The team is still a bit split however. Members of the traveling party included individuals who had tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Florida and have subsequently tested negative in multiple follow-up tests following isolation, consistent with Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance.

“It feels nice honestly,” said FC Dallas manager Luchi Gonzalez upon arriving back at Toyota Stadium. “Because we were in a circumstance where we couldn’t even go outside for almost 12 days. We had a lot of restrictions there and we’re going to continue to have them. It is just better to be home near our families, so we can have some comfort, but at the same time just move on.”

According to the release from the club, members of the team delegation who have recently tested positive for COVID-19 will remain in Florida until they are cleared by medical officials to return to Texas. They remain isolated in their hotel rooms at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort.

No official word on how many of their players will remain in Orlando at this time.

FC Dallas is scheduled to resume training later this week. Details surrounding that will be given at a later date.
