There are a lot of teams ahead of FCD in Vegas’ eyes.

With the start of the 2020 season fast approaching here, online sports books are beginning to release their odds on who they think will walk away with the MLS Cup. According to the sportsbook Bovada in Las Vegas, FC Dallas begins the season with +4000 odds to take home the 2020 MLS Cup. These are the 18th best odds, tied with the Columbus Crew SC.

Yeah, just to give you a little perspective, that puts FCD 8th in the Western Conference behind overall league front-runners LAFC (+400), Seattle Sounders (+700), Minnesota United (+1200), LA Galaxy (+1400), Real Salt Lake (+1400), San Jose Earthquakes (+2800), and the Portland Timbers (+3300).

It should also be noted that teams like Montreal (+1400) and Chicago (+3300) both failed to make the playoffs have better odds than FCD at the moment according to Bovada.

Newcomers to MLS in 2020 are seen in drastically different light as Inter Miami (+5000) sits much higher up the list than Nashville (+15000), who comes in dead last.

If you head over to DraftKings, FC Dallas still comes in well behind most clubs in the league and eighth overall in the Western Conference with a +6000 line.

It should be pointed out that DraftKings is much higher on a resurgence from Sporting Kansas City in 2020 than Bovada. DraftKings has SKC at +2200, good enough for fourth overall in the West behind LAFC, LA Galaxy and Seattle. Bovada has them last in the Western Conference at +8000.

So what do you make of these odds going into 2020? Feel like the oddsmakers are too down on FCD or are they hitting the mark? Are you going to take a flyer on these odds and hope for a big return in November?
