FC Dallas Loanees & Affiliates Report: Pablo Aranguiz leads La U to victory

Pablo finds himself in scorching hot form, and his team is reaping the benefits.

Welcome to another week of FCD Loanees & Affiliates, as we follow FC Dallas players on loan to teams other than North Texas SC. We'll also keep tabs on some of the happenings involving FCD's International Affiliates.

Loanees

Pablo Aranguiz (FCD - Universidad de Chile/Chile): Pablo started for La U on Tuesday in the 2nd Leg of their Copa Libertadores series at Internacional (Brazil). La U would go on to lose the game and the series 2-0. La U is now eliminated from Copa Libertadores.

After a quick turn around, Aranguiz was back starting for La U on Saturday at Santiago Wanderers. Things quickly went south for La U as they were down to 10 men in the 21st minute. The team was fortunate to only be down 1-0 at the half. In the second half, the team scratched and clawed its way into earning a PK, and you know who stepped up:

Pablo’s friend had recently lost his baby son, who was only a couple of weeks old. The celebration solicited a quick response on Instagram:

As for the match, La U would take the lead on a goal off a corner kick in the 73rd minute. Five minutes later, the team would find itself down to nine men, after the second red card of the match. The team would hold on to earn a hard fought 2-1 victory, and are now 1st place on the Primera Division Clausura Table.

Brecc Evans (North Texas SC - Austin Bold/USL Championship: Evans started for Austin Bold on Saturday, as they hosted Rio Grande Valley FC in their second preseason match. He would play a third of the match, which would end in a 2-2 draw.

Francis Atuahene (FCD - San Diego Loyal/USL Championship): Atuahene and his team did not have a match this weekend. (Note: this loan has not been officially announced)

Callum Montgomery (FCD - San Antonio FC/USL Championship) - Montgomery has rejoined FC Dallas for the teams preseason trip to Florida. He will rejoin SAFC after the Florida trip.

Arturo Rodriguez (FCD - Real Monarchs/USL Championship) - Rodriguez made his Real Monarchs debut on Sunday, coming on for the final 10 minutes of a 0-0 club friendly draw against USL League One expansion team Union Omaha.


Pro Affiliates

FC Dallas MX saw its match against Atletico Altamira cancelled over the weekend. Atletico Altamira failed to meet its financial requirements and is now done for the season. As per the Liga TDP rules, FC Dallas MX was granted a 3-0 victory per the forfeit of the match by Atletico Altamira. FC Dallas MX moves to 11-3-1 (39 points) on the season and continues its stranglehold on the top spot in Group 12, actually increasing its lead over the second place team to five points.
