FC Dallas Completes Transfer of Pablo Aránguiz to Universidad de Chile

The Aranguiz era comes to an end.

There has been plenty of FC Dallas related news today as we head into Thanksgiving tomorrow. The club announced on Wednesday that they have reached a transfer agreement with Club Universidad de Chile for midfielder Pablo Aranguiz.

Per team policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed. It is most likely that FC Dallas got a deal that helped them break even on the original signing with Aranguiz. For those who may not remember, he was brought in on a TAM deal in 2018 before becoming a Designated Player in 2019.

FC Dallas loaned Aranguiz to La U last December, after appearing in 20 MLS matches. While with the Chilean Primera División team, Aranguiz scored four goals and recorded three assists in 12 appearances.

FC Dallas initially loaned Aranguiz to Unión Española in July 2019 where he recorded one assist in seven appearances.

So there it is, the end of the Aranguiz era in Dallas. This one feels more like the Anibal Chala era given how both were Designated Players that really failed to live up to the hype and billing when they came in.
